Give Yourself a Smile that will Turn Heads

Currently we are seeing more and more adults visiting Dr. Clemente who are in need of an orthodontist. Many adults realize that investing in a smile makeover can have significant benefits, socially and professionally. Straightening teeth can be an important part of that confidence-boosting makeover process. Regardless of your age, your teeth can still be moved, so there is no such thing as being too old for braces.
Your teeth can be straightened through a variety of options. During your regular exam, you should talk with your dentist about your needs and which option would be best for you. A variety of conditions can be treated.

  • Underbites
  • Overbites
  • Deep bites
  • Crooked teeth

Make Sure Your Child has a Smile They'll Love for the Rest of their Lives

Usually around the ages of 11 and 15 is the most common time for orthodontic treatment, and for good reasons. By 12, most if not all of the permanent teeth have erupted and are in place, and crooked teeth, gaps and bad bites can easily be detected. These problems without orthodontic treatment will hardly ever correct themselves. By seeking early treatment for your children, you'll be able to simplify future treatments providing you with substantial savings. A variety of conditions can be treated inexpensively if treated early.

  • Twisted teeth - Twisted teeth can block space for emerging teeth.
  • Crowded teeth - Crowded front teeth can cause misalignment of other teeth.
  • Extra teeth - Sometimes your child's permanent teeth peek out from behind their baby teeth causing the appearance of two rows of teeth.
  • Cross bites - A cross bite occurs when the position of one or more teeth are reversed.

Individualized and personal care in a trusting environment.

What Happens If You Don't Get Braces & You Need Them?

Getting braces not only gives you a nice smile, it can also eliminate symptoms of the following conditions:

Clenching/Grinding of Teeth: Clenching and grinding of the teeth is commonly caused by a bite that doesn’t match up on the top and bottom. Grinding your teeth can quickly cause pain, headaches and jaw popping. Over time, teeth could possibly even become loose, chipped or broken.

Speech Impediments: When the bite is off in your mouth, you may experience difficulty producing the noise associated with the letters “d” “n” and “t.” Because a misaligned bite can interfere with the location of the tongue tip movement, it could make saying these letters inaccessible, resulting in a speech impediment.

TMJ Pain: This refers to the connection of the skull (the temporal bone) to the lower jaw (the mandible) which controls jaw movement. Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) can create serious discomfort and pain. Pain experienced by TMJ is a reaction to the closing of the upper and lower portions of the mouth. In these instances, the muscles in the jaw overextend to bring the top and bottom rows of teeth together to close. This can make chewing very difficult and sometimes even painful for those who suffer with this condition.

Gingivitis & Tooth Decay: Teeth that are overcrowded, crooked and misaligned are especially difficult to keep clean due to the inability to reach every part of the teeth when brushing/flossing. This can lead to severe tooth decay and possibly even gingivitis.
